Development / sampling

Knitwear Sample Development & Revisions

A sample makes the yarn, shape, construction and finishing decisions tangible. Prepare one clear brief, review one identified version and consolidate the changes.

Pattern and measurement planning

01 / Prepare the brief

Bring the essentials.
Make priorities clear.

  • Front and back views, a tech pack or a reference sample.
  • Measurement points, size chart and the intended fit.
  • Yarn or hand-feel direction, colours and knit structure references.
  • Closures, trims, labels and details that must remain.
  • Quantity, target price and the date you are planning around.

02 / Review the sample

Check the garment.
Record a useful revision.

Define the measurement method.

Lay the sample as agreed and record the same points consistently. Specify units, how the point is measured and the target tolerance. A front photograph alone cannot confirm the fit.

This is a measurement-planning illustration, not a completed sample or inspection record.

03 / Revise and approve

Protect the decisions
already made.

Separate approved details from requested changes. Agree the revision scope before the next sample, then identify the final approved version that production should follow.

Sample approval and order confirmation are separate decisions. Quantities, material specifications, brand details and delivery arrangements still need to be agreed.

For a standard style, the basic sample fee is USD50. This fee is credited against the corresponding bulk order once that order is placed. More complex development is reviewed separately.

Standard-style samples are typically completed in about one week. International courier transit is additional and depends on the service and destination. Confirm the schedule for your specific style.
