Knit Dresses & Matching Sets

For a knit dress or matching set, shape and movement matter together. Review length, coverage, stretch and how the pieces coordinate before defining the sample.

Dress development

Shape is more
than a front view.

Length & proportions

Agree body and sleeve lengths, waist position and the intended fit across the size range.

Coverage & movement

Discuss openness, stretch, lining needs and how the fabric behaves when worn.

Edges & openings

Review neckline, armhole, hem and any closures against the sample.

Matching sets

Approve the pieces
as a coordinated product.

Define each componentIdentify the top, skirt, trouser or other pieces separately; provide a drawing or reference for each.
Coordinate the appearanceReview yarn, colour and texture together, including how different structures affect the look.
Review the fit relationshipCheck garment lengths, overlaps, waist position and sizing across the combination.
Clarify the order breakdownList quantities for each component, colour and size. State whether the requested quantity means individual pieces or complete sets.

Confirm the component and packing breakdown with the team before quotation. A set description alone does not define the number of garments to manufacture.

Measurement planning

Sample review / each component

Review separately.
Then review together.

Record measurements and requested changes for each piece, then check the whole outfit for proportion and fit. Consolidate the comments against one sample version so approved details remain clear.

Project quantities

Make the assortment
easy to read.

Our typical minimum is 300 pieces per style per colour, usually across around four sizes. Requirements vary by style and are confirmed after reviewing the yarn, construction and size breakdown.
